Our new car
Well, God has answered. He has provided...an awesome car for us! Seth did a good job on his blog talking about the car, so I will refer you all there. I've been learning how to drive stick shift. It's really fun, but kindof hard. I was playing Norah Jones in the CD player to help me calm down. When I get nervous, I'm really bad at stick shift. For example, just this morning, I was driving a friend to tennis lessons. Before we get in the car, she asks, "Have you ever had the car die?" I said "Not really. I've been doing a pretty good job so far." Well, we're at the intersection of Illinois and Baltimore (by Walgreens and Hy-Vee) and what do you know...I kill it. I was waiting for the green arrow b/c I was going to make a left hand turn and I was the first car. Well, I get the arrow and the car dies. The truck (of course it was a truck, we're in KV) behind me starts honking! Well, I start the car and try again. Nope...dies again. Another set of honks from the truck behind me. "Please, God, help me!" And He does. I get it going right as the green arrow turns to a yellow arrow and then the green light. And surprise, surprise, the truck follows me. Lesson of the story for everyone out there...be patient with drivers!!! You never know if they're learning to drive a stick shift!!! A little honk to make sure they know it's green is fine...constantly hitting the horn?...not so nice!
Anyways, it's a really nice car and I'm very grateful for it.
